Water Treatment Experts, Not Auctioneers
Our expert buyers locate and procure the very best surplus and used water treatment equipment on the market today. We have purchasing contracts in place across many industries that consistently supply us with higher quality equipment that cannot usually be found on the secondary market. Plus, our experienced technicians can inspect, clean, and repair every item when required.
Custom Reengineering and Refurbishment
Unlike most surplus dealers, our in-house engineering department will listen to your requirements and routinely develop a plan to customize or refurbish the equipment to provide solutions that meet your water treatment needs.
- Our rebuilt and ready-to-run RO units undergo a thorough twenty-point utility checklist
- Our units undergo a full load run test at our hydrotest facility, which includes any and all necessary process or program and instrumentation adjustments prior to shipment, allowing us to ensure a quick and successful startup
- We invite you to come and observe the system in operation at our hydrotest facility
Our Surplus Specialties
Reverse Osmosis Systems
At any given time, our vast inventory of surplus assets includes brackish and seawater skid mounted RO systems ranging from 5 gpm pilots to full-size 500 gpm trains. Additionally, we have a large variety of mobile trailered and containerized RO systems available for sale or rent through our Rental Division. These systems are perfect for remote or temporary processing sites like waste lagoons and mine tailings ponds.
Reverse Osmosis Membrane Elements
Are you trashing RO membranes in your water reuse or process water treatment plant? Our stockpile of refurbished membranes can save you hundreds of dollars per membrane. Provide us with a little bit of data about your RO system and our membrane experts will help you find the best membranes to do the job. We recycle membranes from some of the cleanest operating plants in the world. Our recycled membranes are inspected, graded, and then cleaned in our 100 element custom membrane cleaning plant. Finally, we preserve and individually vacuum seal and box each membrane.
Ion Exchange Resin
Watersurplus has over thirty years of experience in providing high quality and cost-effective new and recycled Ion Exchange (IX) resin. We source high purity Ion Exchange mixed bed resin with more than 95% of its usable life remaining. Additionally, we have the capability to regenerate anion, cation, and mixed bed resin in any ionic form required for your process.

The WaterSurplus Philosophy
The recruiting of subject-matter experts to the ranks of WaterSurplus has driven our careful expansion over the decades and remains our key to success in the future. While satisfied customers frequently ask us to help them address ever more complex water treatment needs, we only proceed when we have the human capital in place and ready to go. Our collaborative and innovative business model only works because of the commitment of our team to find or develop optimal solutions to our customer’s needs.
Customers tell us that the reason they keep coming back is that we deliver superior value with every project. From innovative treatment solutions to brand-agnostic supply recommendations and investment recovery, our subject-matter experts listen to the needs of our customers, probe for information that will help them make the strongest possible recommendation, and then trust our customers to make the right decision for their needs. With access to the top brands in the world, our own innovative solutions, and the widest selection of top-quality surplus equipment, our customers know that we will help them find the very best solution.
Advancing sustainability has been a core part of our philosophy at WaterSurplus since the beginning. Be that by pushing the boundaries of water recovery in reverse osmosis, developing systems that require significantly fewer antiscalant chemicals, recycling and/or refurbishing equipment, membrane elements, and resin, or licensing catalytic filtration media that require half the footprint of a traditional media system. Our expert team is continually seeking (and finding) value for our stakeholders while pursuing more sustainable processes.
