Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED Safety Training

Safety training is no laughing matter, but a little laughter at safety training isn’t a problem. This month’s safety seminar at WaterSurplus was the bi-annual certification in the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Program presented by Cintas First Aid & Safety.

Members of our team participated in the four-hour training session where they receive hands-on instruction in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) similar to the model found on our corporate campus. The session also includes sections on understanding bloodborne pathogens and delivering first-aid in a variety of situations. WaterSurplus provides this particular training opportunity to any employee that would like to receive it. The class is delivered every two years in order to keep CPR certifications up to date and ensure that members of our team are trained in state-of-the-art techniques for helping each other in an emergency.

At WaterSurplus, we take safety seriously, with training programs scheduled at least once a month. Many safety programs are mandatory for our whole team, some are job specific, while a handful like this one, are voluntary. All the safety training programs offered here are informative and professionally developed and presented by outside experts.

And, because we are a fun group of people, they usually involve some laughs.
