University of Colorado Boulder Ph.D., Masoud Aghajani Joins R&D Team at WaterSurplus
LOVES PARK, ILLINOIS, January 8, 2021 – Today WaterSurplus announced the hiring of Dr. Masoud Aghajani as a Research and Development Engineer. Aghajani earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) in 2019. Prior to that, he earned a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University. Aghajani spent the past year as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at CU Boulder.
“Masoud is uniquely qualified to further the research, development, and commercialization of our most recent innovations, ImpactRO and NanoStack,” said WaterSurplus Chief Technology Officer, Dileep Agnihotri, Ph.D. “His strong background in researching membrane separation and membrane materials to improve performance and extend membrane life by managing fouling is in perfect alignment with the benefits of our revolutionary products.”
For his Ph.D. dissertation at CU Boulder, Dr. Aghajani investigated the effect of sub-micron surface patterns on RO membranes for improved anti-fouling and anti-scaling properties. He also studied the mechanical properties of RO membranes and determined the real contribution of porous support to the overall permeation resistance of membranes under high pressure.
